  The lunch specials here are great. For less than $10 a plate, you get soup, rice and tea on top of the entree. Fish, beef, chicken, shrimp and tofu options are aplenty.
  
  Ambiance is fancier relative to the competition. Nice ballrooms for general dining with newer furniture and decor. Private dining area small with a window toward the street but feels luxurious. Bathrooms are nice and clean.
  
  My parents live close by and they meet all their old Chinese exercise and folk dance club friends here. That's a legit stamp of authenticity.

  My family came here for dinner on a busy Saturday night. It's not a large restaurant so we had a bit of a wait. For four adults and two kids, my mom ordered four entrees and two soups. It was just about the right amount with some leftovers.
  
  Service is as service always tends to be in Chinese restaurants...chaotic and you just have to wave people down sometimes. My favorite items were the BAKED SQUID WITH SPICY SALT & PEPPER (eat it when it's hot and crispy!) and the HOUSE SPECIAL PORK RIB. If you're a party of 2-3 people, get these two and add a vegetable dish and rice and that'll be a pretty satisfying meal I'd say!

  Since we were in the Temple City area (Las Tunas Drive, to be exact), my Mom suggested Seafood Palace since she always see them advertise on the various Asian TV Channels. Sure, why not. We always dine on the other side of the 626 (from Rosemead to Monterey Park) and so, something different, something new and of course, a brand-new review.
  
  Parking: Free parking in the front, back and sides (just watch out for signs).
  
  Lobster Promotion: Purchase $20+ and receive either: Two (2) Small Lobsters for $23.99 or One (1) Big Lobster at $24.99lbs. Mom and I decided to go with the two small lobsters. If we like it, we'll come back next time for the big lobster.
  
  Rice Charges: $0.60 per person - regardless, if it's lunch or dinner. We forego rice and got Seafood Chow Mein instead.
  
  Two (2) Small Lobsters for $23.99 - sautéed with gingers and scallions. The meat on both lobsters were fresh, but somewhat bland tasting. There wasn't a real wow factor or sexiness appeal (like that moment your eyes widen, or jaw drops when they bring out the lobster) to the lobster dish. Though, I did find a small moment of joy when a piece of roe fell out of one of the lobsters. This lobster dish was alright. Even my Mom didn't like the scallions and gingers, and usually, she goes straight for that stuff. I guess that's what happens when I've been spoiled by Tang Cang Newport Seafood and Boston Lobster. What also annoyed my Mom and I was when the servers decided to change out our plates at the last minute with four remaining pieces left, when they could've done it mid-way when the lobster plate was still semi-full.
  
  $17.99 Pea Sprouts (Dinner portion): The pea sprouts were good and plentiful. Presentation-wise, the colors were beautiful and vibrant. However, we did find some old and chewy stalks also cooked inside once we started digging into it. Both my Mom and I also agreed that after eating the pea sprouts, it left a sandy and grainy aftertaste in our mouths. We decided not to eat this anymore and ended up taking home the leftovers. The following night, my Mom removed the old and chewy ones and then sautéed it along with the leftover Seafood Chow Mein and it tasted so much better.
  
  $11.25 Seafood Chow Mein (Lunch portion): The assorted seafood toppings were also generous and delicious. However, the green veggies were super tough and chewy to bite alone. My Mom told one of the servers and he ended up giving us a knife to cut it up into smaller pieces. As for the noodles, they were crispy all around, but a little too al dente to chew through. We also ended up taking it home once the lobsters came out.  
  
  Service: The food came out in a good and timely manner. Once all of your food has arrived, the servers leave you alone unless you flag them down for something else. The servers here were nice and courteous. They would walk around the tables clearing out any empty dishes, refilling water or tea. Though the changing of the lobster dishes would have been appreciated earlier instead of when there's only four remaining pieces of lobster left.
  
  Ambience and Décor: Clean and spacious restaurant. Majority of the diners here are older folks and of course, small family sizes, and so the ambience is more relaxing, chilled and casual. The Women's Restroom is also clean and well-maintained.
  
  Overall, this was a nice place to try out in the Temple City area, but that's about it.

  Let's break it down. I've been coming here with my family since the early 2000's so I have a lot of fond memories. Does this give me a tiny little bias in my review? Probably. Does it matter? No. I rate as fairly as I can and let's be real...you can read multiple reviews on Yelp but it's still up to YOU and your personal palate on whether you like it or not.

  Food - 4.6..This score is HIGH AF. Why? GARLIC CRAB. GET IT.
  Their Kung Pao Chicken is also bomb. Veggies are good. Every item I've had here was good. I can't recall one item that was disgusting. Ever. I love coming here and will be coming back later this month simply because I'm writing this review and getting hungry.
  
  Service - 2.5 Meh. For the times I've been here the service is basic for Chinese restaurants of this size and crowd. When they throw the plates and cups down it looks like a Vegas Dealer tossing you cards on the black jack table. If you want refill on water or tea don't expect them to smile at you. It's nothing extreme where you'll hate this place but it's just expected.

  We loved this place and kept coming back for more. It was not the service alone, but the foods that had drawn us back. The tastes were just right, because it wasn't salty nor oily. The prices were a little pricey, but they have too many choices. Their services were extremely top notch and fast.
